This is no Fools’ Day joke. My colleague Laura Sammon at University of Maryland College Park defended her doctoral thesis titled “Earth’s Radiogenic Heat Production, and the Composition of the Deep Continental Crust”. I have been a member of her Advisory committee and also tortured her (just a little bit) during the secret part of the defense proceedings. No question derailed her. Congratulations, doctor!
